DEBUNK OF RUMOURS OF ARMED ROBBERY AT BOVAS/MANAGEMENT HALL IN THE CAMPUS
It comes to our notice that ARMED ROBBERY occurred in the Campus on Wednesday May 29, 2024. night. The Security Unit, LAUTECH is hereby Officially regards the above rumours as False alarm, Fake news, Imagination and lacked an iota of truth.
The information is hereby debunked for clarity of purpose.
Upon being so alerted on that fateful night the SECURITY Personnel on night duty rapidly responded appropriately at the order of the Ag. Head, security unit ACSO. Ola Emmanuel.
The Security was later joined by some members of students and executives of Nigeria Association of University Students (NAUS) who mobilised themselves in support to hurriedly flush out the unwanted intruders or alleged armed robbers out of the entire University Community area. That every nooks and crannies were severely combed. Alas, no criminals suspected of armed robbers or the likes were found, as such to confirm the authenticity of the robbery at BOVAS, Management Department or any where in the Campus.
Hence the story is hereby regarded as baseless and unfounded for record purpose.
Meanwhile, a complain was lodged on May 28, 2024. prior to that day by a male student that he was dispossessed of his mobile phone when he was walking alone across the thick trees (Gedu forest) at the back of Olusegun Oke Library area in the midnight. He described the thieves as students of this institution without any further information.
SUGGESTION: it is suggested that students are to be advised/ WARNED not to be wandering alone in the night period, especially in the secluded area.
Thanks
Signed
O. L Osummakinde (INT. Officer)
for Ag. Head security unit ACSO Ola Emmanuel.
