LAUTECH Wins 2026 Osun Tech Festival Hackathon, Secures $5,000 Grand Prize
A team from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has emerged as the overall winner of the two-day Hackathon at the 2026 Osun Tech Festival, clinching the grand prize of $5,000. The festival, themed “Homegrown Solutions with Global Impact,” was hosted by the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke. LAUTECH team outperformed seven other finalist teams that were competitively selected from a large pool of applicants.
The team showcased an innovative solution titled AquaVise, an AI-powered aquafarming system integrated with an advanced wastewater management technology aimed at improving sustainable fish farming practices. AquaVise leverages intelligent monitoring and automated environmental controls to enhance water quality, boost productivity, and minimize ecological impact.
The team comprises Mubarak Erinfolami and Ajibade Ifeoluwa (400 Level, Electrical and Electronics Engineering) and Faizat Olubori (300 Level, Medicine and Surgery). They were guided and mentored by Professor Tesleem Asafa, Director of the Center for Emerging Skills and Technologies (CEST).
This outstanding achievement reflects the team’s ingenuity, dedication, and technical proficiency. It also reinforces LAUTECH’s expanding reputation as a hub of innovation, research excellence, and technology-driven solutions with both local relevance and global potential.
