LAUTECH Alumni Power CEST with 50 kVA Solar Energy System
The Centre for Emerging Skills and Technologies (CEST) at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, is now fully powered by a 50 kVA solar power system, courtesy of Mar&Mor Engineering Services Limited—an indigenous company founded and led by LAUTECH alumni.
The system, donated in October 2025, reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the growth and sustainability of the Centre and the University. During an earlier courtesy visit by the CEST’s director, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Adegboyega Amoo (Mechanical Engineering alumnus), had pledged to assist CEST through the provision of a solar power system as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
Fulfilling this promise, the Chief Operating Officer, Engr. Kazeem Lasisi (also a Mechanical Engineering graduate of LAUTECH), coordinated the installation of the solar facility to ensure timely delivery. The wife of the CEO, Mrs Morufat Amao (Computer Science and Engineering alumnus), also gave her full support. The system consists of 80 units of 605 W bifacial solar panels, one 50 kVA smart hybrid inverter, and six units of 5 kVA lithium-ion batteries.
On December 9, 2025, Engr. Lasisi paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Razak Olatunde Rom-Kalilu, and the leadership of CEST. The Vice-Chancellor expressed profound appreciation for the generous donation and offered prayers for the continued growth of the company. In recognition of the donation, Mar&Mor Engineering Services Limited was presented with an award and official university souvenirs by the Vice-Chancellor. Earlier, Engr. Lasisi was taken around the donated facility and interacted with undergraduate students.
This contribution marks a significant milestone in strengthening CEST’s capacity-building initiatives and underscores the enduring impact of LAUTECH alumni in advancing the University’s mission.
