Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) continues to demonstrate academic and technological excellence on the national stage, as Team Triumph emerged as the overall winners at the UNILAG National Design Competition 2026 – The 36°C Challenge, hosted by the UNILAG Design Studio.

The outstanding team comprised Taiwo Amoo, a 500 Level student of Mechanical Engineering; Fatiha Azeez, a 500 Level student of Computer Science; Abdullahi Bello, a 400 Level student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering; and Emmanuel Lafenwa, a 500 Level student of Mechanical Engineering.

Competing against 18 teams over four weeks, Team Triumph secured 1st Place and was awarded the ₦500,000 grand prize for developing an innovative and sustainable agricultural optimisation technology.

Their solution is a modular farming system designed to help smallholder farmers monitor, automate, and optimise farm operations to maximise crop yields amid increasing agricultural and environmental challenges.

In recognition of the project’s creativity and impact, the team also received an additional ₦50,000 award for the Most Innovative Sustainable Agriculture Innovation.
