LAUTECH Wins Nigerian Academy of Engineering Award, receives ₦6,000,000 and $2,000
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has once again demonstrated its excellence in innovation and research by emerging as the First Runner-Up in the Nigeria Academy of Engineering 3rd National Innovation Competition, receiving ₦6,000,000 and additional $2,000. The event, organized by the Nigerian Academy of Engineering, was held in Lagos on June 24, 2026.
LAUTECH team, comprising Mubarak Erinfolami, Ajibade Ifeoluwa (Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Faizat Olubori (Medicine and Surgery) and Fatia Bello(Chemical Engineering), presented a project coded as Aquavise, an AI driven Aquafarm with wastewater management systems. The project is designed to empower local farmers by promoting smarter and more sustainable aquaculture practices through artificial intelligence and efficient wastewater management.
The University community commends the students for their outstanding performance and creativity. Special appreciation goes to the University Management for their continued support and to the Director of the Centre for Emerging Skills and Technologies (CEST), Prof. Tesleem Asafa, for his invaluable mentorship and guidance throughout the team’s innovation journey.
