On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, two teams from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, were among the three teams representing Oyo State at the national level of the 2025 NexGen Innovation Challenge. The hackathon, organised by the National Board for Technology Incubation (a federal government agency) and UKALD Group, saw LAUTECH's teams selected from hundreds of submissions across the state.
Today, we celebrate exciting news—both teams have been invited to the Grand Finale in London, where they will present their innovations and connect with potential investors!
Team One includes Saka Muhammed (Mechanical Engineering), Olusanya Ayodeji (Electrical and Electronics Engineering), and Ojoawo Rosemary (Electrical and Electronics Engineering). Team Two is made up of Amoo Taiwo (400-level Mechanical Engineering), Bello Abdullahi (300-level Electrical and Electronics Engineering), Emmanuel Lafenwa (400-level Mechanical Engineering), and Azeez Fatiha (400-level Computer Science).
The teams were mentored by Professor Tesleem Asafa, the Director of Emerging Skills and Technologies at LAUTECH.
