LAUTECH Wins Southwest Region at Deep Funding National AI-Based Project Competition Hackathon 2025, Advances to Grand Finale in Lagos
Team Triumph from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has emerged as the Southwest Regional Winner of the prestigious Deep Funding National AI-Based Project Competition Hackathon 2025. The competition was held at the University of Ilesa on the 17th and 18th of November 2025.
The Team developed an IOT and AI-based Automated Medication Dispenser to assist elderly and disabled in adhering to their medication schedules. The team, comprising Amoo Taiwo (Mechanical Engineering), Bello Abdullahi (Electronic and Electrical Engineering), Emmanuel Lafenwa (Mechanical Engineering) and Azeez Fatiha (Computer Science), was mentored by Prof. Tesleem Asafa, Director of Emerging Skills and Technologies (CEST) at LAUTECH.
With this remarkable achievement, Team Triumph is set to represent the Southwest region at the national finals in Lagos. Their success not only highlights their ingenuity and dedication but also reinforces LAUTECH’s growing reputation for excellence in innovation, health-tech, and technology-driven solutions.
