Vice Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso , Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, has been decorated with the prestigious Kwame Nkrumah Grow Africa Excellence Award as ICON of Public Service Renaissance.
Bestowed on him today in his office at LAUTECH Campus in Ogbomoso, by the Grow Africa Youths Initiative (GAYI), the honor on Kalilu was said to be in recognition of the virtues discovered in him by leadership of the Grow Africa Youth Initiative.

President of the Organization, Comrade Ozim Temple, said the main focus of GAYI was eradicating the menace of drug abuse and indiscriminate migration from Africa by youths of the continent.
Other members of his team includes the General Secretary, Hon. Donald Akufor and Deputy Chairman, Grow Africa Committee on Drug Abuse Sensitization. Hon Dada Musa
Responding at the occasion, Professor Kalilu said the menace of drug abuse and indiscriminate migration are mainly due to misplaced priorities among African youths and the loss of values by parents in the continent.
He also frowned at the unnecessary mass migration of African Youths to Europe and other continents of the World, he charged them to stay back in Africa and contribute their quota to African Development

He therefore tasked GAYI to first struggle towards rediscovering African values of communal raising of children who may not necessarily be their biological offsprings.
